Walking on you, Was really pleasant.

From downtown San Francisco, you can take Golden Gate Transit buses number 10, 70, 92, 93 and 101. They will all stop at the toll plaza, which will allow you to walk out to the Bridge. The cost of a bus ride is $2.50/person each way.(check before you book please)

Option 2: The Walk Across the Golden Gate Bridge to Mid-Span. Time: Allow plenty of time to stop, take photos and enjoy the view. We think you need a minimum of sixty to ninety minutes to enjoy the walk, though it can be done in 30-40 minutes if you're rushing.

Golden Gate Bridge from the South Vista Point. The bridge looks best in the morning from this vista point when the sun is shining on its east side. In the afternoon, it will be in the shade. To get to this spot, you can take the "Last SF Exit" off the approach road, or get there on Lincoln Avenue from the Presidio.

It's free to walk or bike across the Golden Gate Bridge. The pedestrian walkway is the east sidewalk that runs along the east (bay) side of the bridge.
